Motorola Atrix Ubuntu WebTop get hands-on treatment-Android community



Geeks over at Ars Technica has got hands on a Motorola Atrix smartphone along with netbook-style dock and spent some time to play with a little device. This time, rather than focus on the hardware that goes along with the Atrix and its dock, focusing on the software running the show.


Ars notes right off the bat that screens are impossible with the system without rooting the device. As soon as the Atrix is connected to the dock Ubuntu desktop fires up it has Firefox and is an Avant window Navigator-based system. Other components are said to be adapted from the GNOME desktop.


The browser on board in Firefox 3.6, which is said to work as expected. One of the more important features are Mobile view, and it is a direct interface on the screen, dock to the Android operating system on your phone. Which allows the user to interact with your phone using the trackpad and keyboard. Practical software is detailed, and you can hit the source below to see more.
